Annual Symposium

SSSUK promotes learning and provides resources for anyone with an interest in South Sudan and/or Sudan. Members enjoy access to our flagship journal, Sudan Studies for South Sudan and Sudan, published twice a year. Join us!

SSSUK holds a Symposium every year, usually in September, featuring a lively and diverse discussion of Sudan and South Sudan in all their aspects. Details about the upcoming symposium and programmes of past events are available here.

  • The 2022 Symposium took place on 8th October in London. 

 

  • The 2019 Annual Symposium took place on 7th September in London. Many of the presentations were about the 19th December revolution in Sudan. Programme. Recordings.

     

  • The 2018 Annual Symposium took place on 22nd September in London. Among the speakers were Hala al Karib, Jihad Salih Mashamoun, and Aicha el Basri. Programme.

     

  • The 2017 Annual Symposium took place on 16th September in London. Among the speakers were Abdel Salam Noureldin, Radina Elsahib, Sieta Adhieu Majok, and Ali Abdelatif M. Hussein. Programme.
